anil chawla is relatively a newcomer on the uk scene, having emerged in 2004 as dj to watch, he already released productions on such labels as global underground, saved, cubism, or berwick. anil has been sending me his work for quite some months now and everytime there was a track to play. so its naturally that we started talking about a possible release on kill brique. anils music got the necessary energy to move any dancefloor, he knows the game, and he knows how to shake your ass. this ep is here to prove that : >together< is an acid monster (reminds me, oh surprise, some of the hardfloor stuff) that builds into a very nice breakdown

impressive debut ep from new duo bearweasel are a new production duo, consisting of dean muhsin and louisa page. with a remix already out on perc trax they debut with this superb ep for audioflys new label. opening track >monkier< is brilliant. combining a touch of latin percussion with swollen basslines and brilliant horn stabs scattered througout its one of my favourite tracks of recent months. second track >drummer< is just as good – its wonky techhouse with a funky bassline and small-but-effective breakdown. remix of >monkier< comes from my favourite hamburg-based croatian, solomun. his version takes it deeper, with a lazier attitude but a warm vibe. a quality debut and a duo to watch out for in 2008.

after his collaboration with label head daniel stefanik for cargo edition 003, sven tasnadi steps up for his first solo release. >el fuego de dentro< features those typical relaxed grooves that remind us of endless mediterranean summer afterhours, hitting exactly that specific spot of abeyance between euphoric celebration and absolute physical exhaustion. his bass drum is never obtrusive but always compelling. svens tracks are ultimately funky, full of funny little sounds swirling around. and not to forget, with >2190 días contigo< mr. tasnadi reveals his epic qualities as well. with this record, mr. tasnadi definitely proves that he is a guy you need to watch out for in the future.
